Booting
System files are store in CD, DVD, or HDD.
These process of loading system files and command.com from a disk in computer's
memory RAM is called booting. Booting can performed two ways.

Cold Boot: When the
computer is at off state to switch on the power, is called Cold Boot.
Warm Boot: The computer
is at working state to restart DOS or boot again by pressing “ Reset” switches
or to press CTRL+ALT+DEL keys together at the same time is called warm
Boot.
Files Types:
There are several types of
files and they differentiated with its extension.
* User file-
The files which user creates
using different program are files. It can be document, graphic, workbook,
database etc.
*.Doc, *.Jpeg, *.Bmp etc
Program
file:- the files which create environment to perform specific jobs are
called program files,
e.g. . Ms Paint, Photoshop,
etc.
Auxiliary File:-
A Program file alone cannot
create the environment to the user to perform specific job so it need supports
from other file. This supports file are called auxiliary file.
E.g. *.dll, *.ini, .obj etc..
